Odd question from my DOM today

After I got back to the DO today the DOM called me over to say one of my customers has complained that they haven't had any mail for two weeks and did I know anything about it. I said that I didn't but he seemed to give the impression that something was amiss. He asked if I'd delivered there today or yesterday to which I said I don't know. His attitude has concerned me as I feel he was implying that I am responsible for their lack of mail.

It's nothing unusual and nothing to worry about.
Every now and again some dopey customer(not the genuine cases) will complain that they haven't had mail for 3 years or something like that.
It usually translates as this.
They are waiting for something in particular that some company has swore they sent out two weeks ago.
The customer doesn't want to complain about one particular item because that sounds trivial so they exaggerate a little...or a lot.
Customers...don't you just love them.

Had the same put to me once...a customer complained that he had not had any mail for 4 days!!! He said "I ALWAYS get mail" I said "Well obviously you DONT"!

I would think most posties have had this at some point.

I had one a while ago, manager says: 'Mrs so and so says she hasn't had any mail for 5 days'

I said: 'that's right she hasn't. What do you want me to do about it, send her a letter myself?'
