Re: DOH !!
i once went to a known old faggot of a gay man to redeliver a 739'd packet and when he opened the door he said "Hi, I hear you've a large parcel for me!" I didn't know where to put my face! (leave it!)
"Just take it out and see how you go......."

Re: DOH !!
I knocked on a door to deliver a packet and was pleasantly taking in the aroma of a nearby flowering shrub.
When the woman opened the door, I said "I was just admiring your bush!"

"Push it in"..."it won't go in any further"..."well pull it out then"..."i don't want to break it"..."i'll pull it from this side then"...

Re: DOH !!
I quite often say stupid stuff just to lighten up my day.
For example yesterday I asked a man to sign for a recorded, and he asked "what was he signing for?" I said "Oh, just to transfer your life savings and Audi TT over into my name, nothing exciting."
He found it funny.
I have a couple of older woman customers who I flirt outrageously with. The 'large packet' or 'special delivery' innuendos are common ones.

There is a post on here somewhere,in one of the 'popular threads' stickie, this guy innocently said to one customer that her bush needs to be trimmed.
He was having problems with, well,an overgrown bush as he entered her garden, apparantly she complained to management about him.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
