We didn't get a chance to deliver them this week, and already got next weeks dropped on the frame on Friday.

What's the rules on overdue D2D, I have about 2500 (5x500) undelivered letters?

So it's that serious?, I thought I could get away with dumping them in the D2D york as next door has had none done while she was off on holiday. That being Monday to Saturday.

our office regularly has lots not delivered.
ok most do them because they have time but some of the dodgy walks and absorption walks dont have em done

What is the problem?? If you have D2Ds to deliver then you do them and if you're over your time then you just cut off and leave it behind for your DOM to get covered.

Maybe send off a quick e-mail to Moya telling her that they're not being done

Also with regards to your is it serious type comment...
Manager says to you on a Monday,see all that mail over there in them there yorks,don't bother delivering it till next week.
D2D's are live mail,there is no difference except it can be delivered over the week.
No D2D's delivered all week,yes it's serious.

dont think many treat them as live mail and that includes managers lots of posties see them for the junk they are same as the customers dont care about the union putting them into workload trying to save jobs they will always be seen as crap

You must consider 20 percent of them per day to be first class mail. None of this "I didnt have time".Leave them for any reason at your peril

The more work you do on your own delivery (at least during the recognised shift) means you have less capacity to absorb extra work such as lapsing etc. I think to be honest that most people don't do D2Ds etc as they feel forced to do extra work or not to cut off. In their mind not doing D2Ds is easier than having a confrontation with the Manager.

Its sad but it is a symptom of the appalling managerial capabilities and style prevalent in RM. All of it directly traceable IMHO to one person - the present incumbent of the Managing Director, Operations and Modernisation role. Until he changes the style of management, and starts respecting the views of workers if not the Union, then we will lurch from strike to strike, and from poorly structured agreements to worse T&Cs - but its only my opinion of course.

Postman have been sacked for not delivering D2D recently in N.Ireland so ask yourself is it worth your job? The Manager will just say they told you to do them and leave all the blame on you.

Keep them in the loop if your having trouble bounce it back to him/her make them earn their money.

I don't get the "didn't have time to do them" argument.
It's only at the end of your working day that you don't have time to do things.
You can't pick and choose what parts of the job you think are more important than others and management shouldn't be allowed to either.

1. In the interim period, prior to a formal revision, delivery colleagues must deliver at least 1/6th of all their door to door items each working day along with ordinary addressed mail. In line with the national agreement.

Not a percentage I'll grant you, but it does say a minimum of 1/6th each day.
