I have one person, day after day, has a minimum of a tray of packets some of which will go through the door, some won't so have to come back. Surely there must be some kind of arrangement that we can come to with customers as regards situations like these? It's farcical that I'm just taking packets out for a ride every day.

I dont know why posties are expected to deliver any packet that will not fit through a standard letterbox. Surely these packets should go out with a driver. To give the postie a break from lumping a heavy bag around.

well you should be using the yellow template to say they are too big for you and you shouldnt be lumping a heavy bag anywhere, just stick to the maximum weight limits, it may add more time to your round or extra packets to the driver but both are not you issue to deal with manager is the one who will have to worry about making it work

Try having less items in the bags which cover places which get loads of packets then at least if they're not in you won't have to carry too much weight in the bag for too long, just means perhaps one or two more bag drops for the driver to deal with

Would work on P&L - But wont on Foot Delivery unless Manager has authorised using pouch boxes as a way to return packets, and if you only have safe drops then you have to carry it round till either you get close to a PO or till you return to the office.

There was a download on here somewhere that gave measurements for what eactly consitutes a packet and a parcel..it was 400mmx400x200 and another for a long thin thing..basically take nothing that is over shoe box size,nothing that weights more than 2.5 kgs and groups of smaller you are supposed to ask the DIM

I am on P&L and the one person I'm thinking of gets a tray full most days of the week plus a massive oversized packet / parcel / box big enough to hide in once a week.

There is barely enough room with the trolleys, pouches, trays and other packets in the back of the van to take these out just to bring back a few hours later.

Anyway, the most annoying are the people who want re-deliveries but aren't there when you go back

Try catch her on a saturday and ask if theirs neighbour you can leave them with.

Alternatively put 24 hrs on P739 on say monday then put tuesdays packets in callers office tuesday morning

That would all be very good but this customer doesn't come and get them, they have them redelivered and there have been occasions where they've not been there for the "en masse" redelivery.
