I know this issue has been brought up a few times before, but, in our office last saturday, our manager made the staff sort it, just because we were standing around for a bit waiting for our second lot of mail.
Has anyone got a copy of the SDD agreement regarding MAILSORT 3 ?
and
Could anyone also clarify what our position is regarding this mail ?
If anyone can supply me with these details i'd really appreciate it, and will definately be putting them up on the noticeboard in our office.

In asking you to work, what exactly did your manager do wrong?

In asking the question where does it say that asking them to work was wrong. He just wants clarification.

IT STATES IN THE SDD THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE LONG DAYS AND SHORT DAYS IN THE WEEK TO TAKE IN CONSIDERATION THE HEAVIER DAYS??(IE BEING FLEXIBLE) THUS SAT SHOULD BE MADE A SHORTER DAY
THUS NOT TAKING M3.
IT CAN BE SORTED IF THERE IS TIME WHEN LIVE MAIL IS NOT PRESENT.

So, he was standing around? It's only what you shower do for most of the day when you're not scabbing or spending the bonus we've earned for you.

The problem is a lot has changed since SDD.
By this i mean Saturday has been targeted for Delivery of downstream access.
Part of the SDD agreement states mailsort3 is not required for delivery to allow for a significantly shorter saturday.
However there's nothing wrong with your manager loading ips and requesting it's sorted to your fitting.
if you decide to deliver it,i think it should be a matter for each individual, but why make work for yourself!

If MS ends up on my frame and its not too much I'll take where I am going to try and make Monday a bit lighter. Not a flyer though, that's been shown to back fire.

Instead of just going to selected threads/posts how about going to some that are about say,Management bullying or say, stitch up sick stage warnings or say,my Manager lied to me today or.......
Actually, just post in most of the threads.
We will give you a little respect if you give us the same.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I won't mate! They show how much respect they have for us every time they issue another stage to someone with a fistful of doctors notes or drive through a picket line. You might as well ask me to respect Thatcher or Nick Griffin.

Actually anybody can. DOM posts a fair bit but does not seem to contribute much to the discussions.

I think it is important that we keep the forum DOM free as I really can see it going hellmail if we are not careful.
This is an excellent forum and I think it would be a good idea to set up an alternative points of view section so they can post there but to let them post on the main forum before you know it this will become a DOM forum and I for one will not come on here any longer if that happens.
