How do you do it?

Post by Blue29 »

Looking for all the pointers you've got here as it's only a matter of time before a resident gets narky and waves a fist at me.

How do you post the tiniest, flimsiest letter or more usually D2D through a uPVC door letterbox with bristles set as firmly as an angry sperm whale with a wired jaw without turning the item into a shredded ball of crumpled neo-junk? Oh, and how to you do it efficiently?

I'm hopeless at thin single letters - our wage slips are the worst. What's the trick I'm missing?

No trick just force them through anyway you can (without sticking your fingers through  ), if they've a problem then they'll have to sort out their letterbox. Any threats by them are reported to the manager and they'll have their mail held until they come up with a solution.

^ folding the mail items usually make it "thick" enough to push through the bristles. if needed fold it three or four times. the only people whose mail i dont have to fold are usually the boxes outside the wall. its all about minimizing physical contact with the letter box

Had a complaint that after the mail was 'folded' I and bent a credit card so badly that it was unusable. In mitigation the customer had a track record of being an ahole.... go figure!

Push it through with a dog peg.

i also fold the rims on the amazon packets as they arent the same size as the item inside, which i' also do if i had a letter with a card in so it doesnt damage the card.

Sometimes I don't know if a post is serious or not. But, giving you the benefit of the doubt....fold it and push it through corner first.

Nope, just plain old me I'm afraid. I was thinking about how to be a better postie by looking after the mail but with the number of stupidly design boxes about the best i can do it fold then stub the letters on the bristles. Sure, most are okay but there are a good number where the mail ends up literally like a ball. I've never recieved post in the way I'm delivering it, but then I have a bit of a clue about considering how it gets to my mat.

By asking the question I thought I'd un do an avalanche of terrific, time served experience about getting it through without so much as a fold in half.

So, is a scrumpled ball of letter and envelope acceptable - am I doing as good as it gets? It seems so.

Thanks all for the confirmation.
