Casual Flexible Resource

Possibly the wrong forum as it transcends delivery/MC staff...

I know it seems a bit early for this but I have a question about Christmas casual positions.

I did a stint as a casual last christmas, sorting packets in a mail centre. This year I worked as a postie on a fixed term contract, which has since ended.

I've just got an email from RM offering me the chance to apply for Christmas casual positions early as I did it last year. I've looked at the jobs site and the positions near me are all 'Casual Flexible Resource'.

Just wondering exactly what these will entail. The description suggests a mix of delivery and MC work as and when needed, but does anyone have any experience of what exactly that's likely to be? How many hours would I likely to be contracted for? (presumably not at full rate - either min. wage or a bit more for nights?) Would I be sent all over the place covering deliveries or just in the one DO? It's possible some of this info is buried in the jobs site but I don't really want to go through the whole application to find it!

I'm quite interested. I'm a student now so it's not exactly the sort of job I'm looking for, but it's tempting to apply as I'd have a pretty good chance and I've had good experiences working for RM. But frankly the prospect of winter deliveries (I had great weather over my 4mth stint this year) or doing long nights in a Mail Centre again is pretty grim.

Any thoughts?

Possibly means that hours of attendance are flexible depending on workload, not location
