If you don't perform to sorting standards of 31 letters and 27 flats per min your name would go on the board in doms office (dom timing people at random at end of stack).

Our revision has been stopped as it apparently not cost effective.

Our DOM has been told to lose 200 indoor hours (small office 40 staff).

We are just being told what to do without consultation.

no weekly resource meeting has ever taken place.

Our union rep is on the sick.

Perhaps your DIM has decided to Muck You about as much as possible, in the hope that a few of you will just Jack because you've had enough! Old Management Trick, saves them the problem of paying any Redundancy and Reduces the Workforce! Best Tactic I've found is to say.."Alright..No Problem, what else do you want us to do"? It might seem as if you've given up but the Management have no ammunition to try and discipline you. On your part you just start to "Work Properly", this mucks them up more than anything else. You are right and I do go along with it but i see people losing their tempers as it is the only way they know, unfortunately it is these people that will lose there jobs. It is B & H.

We'd probably say it is..But The DIM will obviously argue that he's just doing everything "By the Book"! We are our own worst enemy, I bet you couldn't even get everyone in your Office to agree to anything. Most will winge and moan but not be willing to do anything for themselves. "Working Properly" is probably your best weapon, but I'm sure most of your colleagues will disagree. TBH I feel lots of RM staff have never been outside their own "Comfort Zone" and it really does come as a shock when they think the DIM has "Got it in for them" but many of us have been mucked about for years and RM are just trying to find new ways to "Turn the Screw"! Tell your mates to dig in for a long struggle because your Manager has obviously been told to get rid of staff and save money.....or else!

I've told him that the only measurement he can use is the Individual Performance Standard which has the one minute test in it and also told him he can't put up a league table.

He said that the one minute test was outdated and that he can put up a league table in his office.

I will wait and see if he carries this out next week and contact area rep for advice.

just stick together as an office and do the job correctly , which means start on your time , take your break , cut off , dont work your days off , as its comeing up to that time of the year again when they want you to work days off and work over to clear the mail , stick to your guns and it will be him thats on his hands and knees begging you to do it , oh and dont forget to pad his office out as theyll be a of head banging , by him.

I spoke with Rob Jenson this morning regarding Pareto following his visit to N. Ireland. He confirmed that the only process to be used is the National Agreement - Individual Performance Standards (IPS) and this will be dealt with sensitively. There will be no displaying of any information relating to any individuals performance. If performance issues are identified in line with IPS then this will dealt with through counselling and where necessary training. We also discussed IWT and he confirmed that the IWT is an office based performance measure and not a measure of individual performance.

drb, i've been in touch with area rep and tried to explain the situation but he wont come to the office as the last time he did the DIM refused him entry and sent him packing.
I think this might have to go to the next person up in the CWU.

Bearing in mind that the only time we see a CWU Rep, apart from our Office Rep, is when a Strike is imminent....Is it general practice to have to meet them/talk to them at the gate? I know RM can deny access to their Property but where's all this "Moving forward and working together..BS"? If it is the case I hope any CWU Reps make sure they turn up at a later time, when they can talk to the "late starters" i.e PT guys!

If I was a cynic I'd suggest they probably wouldn't bother as, most PTers aren't in the Union (normally because the Rep can't be arsed to recruit them ) and most Office policy seems to be made to suit the "Old and Bold", which are predominately FT and like the present status quo!
