update on NCI + pouch search this morning

When we all arrived for work this morning there was a pouch check going on, lucky for me had two letters with not known on,
plus I said that was unable to put them in a post box as I had a phone call from Atos, Quite a few got caught and are now going down the conduct procedure , don't know what my dom is on but he seems to be on a conduct code frenzy , though it only seems with certain folks.

Now to NCI I had a call from atos yesterday and told them I am having problems carrying excess weight,
I asked dom last week to put a HCT at the other end of my duty as I have 2 full bags a bag full of packets, He took no notice along with requesting a LWT. Today our union rep came to our office and bought me LWT with Bags that have to be attached, by the time it was delivered to my home(drop Off the bags had been swiped ,
so had trouble replenishing them , also driver had put one of my bags in the wrong place,

I got out at 10 am after asking lino how do I get 2 bags of mail out and one bag of packets she just looked at me, so i said that is why i am asking for a HCT. I finished at 3.20 and lino had to come out and get a special off me (when I rang Up at 1.35) I said I would not be done till 3 ish and had no intentions of bringing anything back as i would be shattered

My union rep said that i should not be on this procedure, but want to see where the dom takes it, I did say I would go along with it, but not looking forward to next week when i will be tested again over the week.

On a good note I did like walking with the LWT though it is not any quicker which i am sure my dom won't like but eventually it may help my back, off to zumba now TOWIE MUM

Sounds a bit of a nightmare day to be honest

With ref to the bag searches we had this a few weeks back leading to suspentions. The posties are now back but are still waiting and dont know the outcome of their interviews.

Come on people how hard is it to check your bag once you've finished? It really really doesn't look good taking mail home even if its done by mistake. Don't leave yourself open RM is looking to get rid of people.

All well and good but with some that "finish on the streets" taking a pouch home is normal.. D2Ds are now part of workload and should never leave the office unless to be delivered (I could partly understand this when we received payment, but not now)
But I agree there should be NO reason to have mail in your pouch, even if it's not known, dog, no access etc - post box or post office or return to DO - end of!

Don't understand myself why people are still finishing on the street, always returned the the DO and so has everyone else. Still, whenever P&L comes to the offices they will have to return, either in a van or with a HCT.

We're told its O.K to leave D2D in a pouch drop as long as its IN DATE! after that it needs to be brought back to the D.O and accounted for i.e. overs which is fair enough in my view. Even if you finish on the street how hard is it to check your pouch and either sign up any mail and chuck it into a postbox OR deliver any missorts etc???

They tried to get me to take anything over to the Post Office, but if your finishing time is 1:30, the local PO is closed for lunch then, which meant going to the main PO Was a bit daft as the PO was at the beginning of the walk so meant u had to walk for miles to get the mail back there When I kicked up a fuss about it, the manager got a driver to pick it up from my home as he wasn't willing to pay overtime to get mail/parcels back to office.

Not really, when I say it was at the start of the duty, I actually meant after about a bag and a half. First bag and a half going to flats with time entry system. So therefore would be returning a lot more mail. What with the amount of Post Office closures as well... This is only one duty I'm talking about. When I was put on another duty and asked what I did with the mail, was told to take it to main post office, which was miles away. So I can totally understand why people finish on the street. Why would people use their own free time to do this, when RM don't incorporate this time into the duties, or when they do is it enough time?

As for starting later, wasn't possible in my situation, due to other commitments. I was employed part time between the hours of 8.30-2 which suited me, I didn't want overtime, didn't want a change to my hours. As I said before, it's up to RM to sort this not the postie on the street.

I don't think it will be...not now.
I think P&L is too inefficient,too costly and it's days are numbered.
I think the Dutch part-time model awaits us now...and the part-time half will finish on the street,probably start on the street as well.
If RM are now concentrating their efforts on indoor revisions where else can it lead?

I also finish on the street , any mail that has not been delivered is put in the "undelivered mail pouch" and placed in the nearest red post box.
