Hello,

I've broken my leg and will be in plaster for 6 weeks. Whats the deal with sick pay? Ive been with RM for 3.5 years.
Ive done a search and even skimmed through the downloads but cant find a definitive answer.

6 months half pay.
How did you break your leg?
If it was an AOD the max six months full pay rule doesn't apply.

AOD, accident on delivery? NO was done playing football. SO I will get up to 6 months pay?

It's a rolling four year period so it will be 6months minus any time you've had off in the last 4 years or in your case 3.5 years.

I've got 40 years of wear and tear to get through. (providing RM last that long) Cant imagine how my knees/ankle/back gonna be after all that time

I'll expect the inevitable phone call from DOM in a couple of weeks. However I shall explain that with this bulky, heavy cast on I'm not capable of even the most menial of tasks. As well as the fact I can't drive.

Besides I can't sort sat down... my arms are too short!

A fellow postie in my office had torn ligaments in his back and even so his hearing is really bad and his hearing aid does not really help the manager said he could go to a larger office to answer the telephone if he could not do light duties dick-head or what

You surely dont need any of us to answer the last bit of your question

dont go back unless you want to.

so long as you have a sicknote the only way they can get you back would be via ATOS for a risk assesment.

i managed to exhaust full pay and had a couple of months of half.

it can be done so long as you stick to your guns

I broke my leg badly and it was an AOD, i was off for 9 months as bone took a long time to heal, i was on full pay for 6 months and then 3 months half pay, did get benefits from the DSS so that maybe worth checking out, also get atos involved so you get on a rehab programme on your return to work. Good luck

AOD is 12 months full pay if you register the accident with the DWP.
