Can you be sacked for mis-delivery?

I would like some clarification on this if possible. In my office we've been told that we will now be sacked if any 1 property gets 5 misdeliveries. The whole office is now P & L so we are doing work off each others frames. Also the majority of the office is on 5-1 rotation so obviously for a week the duty is covered by someone else so will the duty holder be the one thats going to get sacked for any errors? How do management know these are genuine misdeliveries or some disgruntled homeowner getting pissed off with mail still going to the property for previous occupants? Has this been agreed nationally?

Unless they do it nationally then they are going to have real problems defending any IT/ET.

But this goes back to them not needing to "prove" anything.

But they will still fall foul of RMs conduct code for any tribunal, it's just some manager on a power trip until I get notification from RM senior management/union LTB I'll be ignoring this latest bit of management stupidity.

If a manager puts a definitive figure on the number of miss-deliveries it takes to get you sacked he is ignoring the basic premise of the conduct code in that each individual case is decided on it's own merits.

An increase in cut off's might see many a manager falling foul of this particular mooted rule. Then again ,who's to say that's not the intended consequence

in our office if you are one of the managers bum chums you can do whatever you want ..lose special deliverys...sign for recorded's on the customers behalf ...leave packetes anywhere..bullet proof ....on the other hand if you do the job as it should be done you'll get conduct coded

No idea what the rep is saying as he don't talk to me at all anymore or anyone else . I think I'll contact the Area Rep at some point this week.
