No pay for excess; rumour , bullying or ?

Nothing official announced but word was spread (from Management) around the office that excess would not be paid and that if you dont complete then you will be conduct coded.

Too many hours need to be saved so; overtime is a no no. But to be conduct coded for not completing? Just makes me laugh.

I am just waiting for next month when the volume kicks up and I know I will not be able to complete within time. They can conduct code me as much as they like ; but they will fail.

Is this (like only 5 hrs for working your day off) spread around the rest of the org?

Yup to reduced hours for working your day off, well 6.45 if it's busy, used to be 8.20, they can bugger off, let the fun begin

So don't work your days off until they pay you the full 8 hours, if you sat back and thought about it you'd realise the damage you are doing to your office by continually working your days off for 5, 6 or any amount of hours under 8.

You're creating savings where there should be jobs, our office would collapse if the guys who work their days off didn't, it would be nice just for a few weeks if everybody said 'no', but it's never going to happen so it's a pointless discussion.

our office has been tight on the o/t for months .infact the last act of our management when they realised they had to lose more hours was to cut the hours on the new duties when they kick in ,i,e when i trialed a round with the new system earlier this year we never completed on time and we didnt get a jot of help or advise from our cwu rep. when the new rosta of duties were annonced and we had to go and sign for that duty which was supposed to be a 30 hour duty which as i said we never completed ot time was put down to a 27 hour duty ?????????????? what the f***

The thing to remember is if you work your hours and you keep to the" tell the sh*ts that you will not be able to complete" then give the managers the choice of paying you o/t or make it clear you will not go above your hours,start standing up for yourselves,in fact don't complete,bring the mail back see how they cope,we have guys in our place that do just that they come in pack the bags they have told the idiot managers they cant fit it in then when they are out and they are coming close to their time they ring the office and tell them they are still gonna bring mail back,if you keep hiding and don't stand up to them they will keep doing it,nobody can touch you if you stick to their policy's and as soon as a few people see you doing it they will do the same,Bully boy managers only do that as long as you let them.Come on people give them some of their own medicine.

Not a problem.

Maybe some days I just get frustrated with how the operation 'works' At the moment I am dying to be conduct coded for cutting. We will see what happens ,, but I expect some fallout
