Have had a face to face meeting with an atos "physician"(i use the word loosely). She has requested my medical records from my GP. I have no problem with this, but also added that it would be quite informative if she was also able to look at the records from my chiropractor who has been dealing with me for a long period of time and has enabled me to carry on work in the past .I knew that my GP report is basically going to mention the usual prescriptions ofPainkillers and the basic 6 week physio sessions which i had(which longterm have not helped)
Apparently as the chiropractor treatment was sought by me outside the NHS,( as they do not recognise its status) Atos will not accept any records backing up my physical condition. I was shocked and disgusted by her refusal to accept these. Has anyone any advice they can give me on this matter. PM me if you prefer.
Did she say why she thought it would be so informative to see the Chiropractor's records, if they don't accept their findings?
It seems a bit strange to me. Although, if they aren't going to pay any attention to the Chiropractor's findings. That could potentially work in your favour. From what you've said, the NHS's attempts to help you, haven't been effective. So it will strengthen your case, for justifying any time off you've required.

Well i would make an appointment to see my GP and take along the findings and reports from the chiropractor. Explain to him why you went outside the NHS and how it has helped you in the past. He will record these facts, and maybe his opinion of them, and they will then be recorded on your medical records. Then let atos have access to your medical records ........ they can hardly ignore it then.
