We've recently had re-direction frames(IPS frame) introduced and there are more complaints now about re-di not getting done than we ever had before. People forget to clear down the re-di's and end up delivering to the old address. Rolls of blank labels? we are lucky to get bands & 739's some weeks

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the DOM has his conference call.....perhaps now he won't beable to bullshit at how well P&L is going. Apparently he's being touring offices in the region telling them how well our office is doing

TBH SP, my office has had a re-direction frame for a couple of years, just have to get in the way of clearing them when you clear your mail, put them beside the mis sort frame

Gets me when the early nerds are allowed to come in an hour early and then are allowed to leave the office before any redirections from normal posties are placed on their frame. Redirections are supposed to be treated as 1st class, but hey ho.....

Used to be a miserable old git in one of my old offices (only one I hear you cry), always bagged up early. When you took Re Di's around to him he'd throw them melodramatically onto his frame and say, "That's too f***ing late, it'll have to wait until tomorrow now"! I just used to say, "Well if you choose to delay 1st Class mail that's up to you mate"! He used to sheepishly pick them up, when he thought no-one was looking, and slip them into his bag.

I can beat that
we have redirection frames,have had for yonks
however just recently we now have 2 sets for each postcode (4)
so the postie collects their redis from on frame and then returns them to a different one
later the PHG goes and checks/pulls out out of date redis and has to move the whole lot of redis to the far frame the posties collect from at the far end of the IPS

I have over 80 redirections, wtf is the point in carrying them to my frame and back everyday. what a retarded idea. they take up two trays so wouldn't fit in an IPS frame anyway.

We found out that internal redirections are not supposed to go out till the next day officially,but the lino's dump them on the ips straight away anyway.

Suppose that makes sense. After all they would have normally gone back through the system and been sorted again wouldn't they? Perhaps we should be putting them all back through the system, it'd make our mail figures look better! Remember the mail is dropping!

But does anyone actually check if you stick some in with the rest of the forward ones, if the OPG has already tied down?

in ourr office the redirected mail goes in a seperate frame
broken down into the city postcodes
then regions
then forwards & international forwards
the box for our office(4 postcodes) should always be empty on that frame unless everyone is gone
its often a manager that ties that frame down so its easily spotted if you are putting missorts on the wrong frame
i did raise a while back as to why the redi labels didnt have the receiving walks duty/office number on it
for intra missorts it makes it easier to pass on for those who dont know the IPS
