the 2010 agreement talks about making agreements for the vast majority,who decides what % makes the vast majority should it be agreed or is it upto the manager?we are also having forced onto f/t duties starting at 10 finish at 6 so we have to do a 5hr delivery then back to office and go out and do a collection anyone else got this and can they do it nobody wants it,rep and area rep not fighting it what do we .

Welcome to the new look royal mail ! These are called hybrid duties and we have many in our office - it's disgusting as it's far too much work to be expected to now do what was optional and overtime as kind of like two duties ! The whole change is crazy and too tiring when your doing it day in and day out , also we have lapsing which has to be done before you even start own delivery !!! Where's the union in all this ???? Disgrace :(

There is nothing wrong at all with lapsing if you have time!

Work to your time if you don't and it'll soon stop, do it and go over every day and it will go on and on and on.

We are our own worst enemy, not even the CWU can be blamed for that.

They want us to just work our hours, well we should take them up on that and NOT come in early, work our days off or do overtime.

The place would implode. Royal Mail would be forced to do something about this mess and things would be stacked more in our favour.

Sadly though.........

Been saying this for years when will the penny drop with all the
early-starters,flyers and brown-nosers ?? Do the job properly !the way RM
taught us.So when the excrement becomes airborne you can point the finger
at managment .....short term pain....long term gain, play them at their own game

We had many of these Hybrid Duties made up for the Proposed Revisions. Basically each one had part of an old Scheduled Attendance Collection just tacked on the end, so they were finishing at about 1800. Surprise Surprise...Everyone of our Full Timers (who'd voted them in)managed to sign for an early start/finish duty...0700-1500 and ALL the late finish Hybrids were left for the Part Timers to sign for! Our Revision was still suspended because the Area manger thought there wasn't enough savings being made!

I would have still gone for them as it meant a lot of guys getting increased contracts. Console yourself that if you have a Full Time contract you're a lot more fortunate than a lot of you're fellow Posties, who are still getting the grief for a lot less money!
