households in frame 1st or last ?

I always put my households in last as I have many two house slots on my frame but my DOM tells me I should be putting them in 1st as its quicker.
problem of putting them in 1st is that mail can slip into the households and can be binned by customers also on heavy days they can get mangled and ripped.
What do posters find the best way

I find it easier by doing D2d first and a lot of my collegues in our office do the same

This came up in the revision stuff,as i understand it you should prepare your delivery then you should do 1/6 of your delivery with D2D items,so that will be after!

Management feel that once you have walk sequenced mail putting the D2D in first will slow down your sort rate and compromise the expected savings with WSM.
Having done it both ways i can tell you that the difference is negligible if any.
As long as you do it in their time not your own it really isn't worth worrying about.

I tend to chuck them in after sequenced mail before i go clear ips boxs and no doubt get collared to do ips sorting.

Aren't houses sharing single slots in a frame supposed to be getting stopped, with frame re-writes being done where necessary i.e one delivery point per frame slot?

As for the D2Ds, I always do them last because they slow me down when throwing in the mail, but in addition I can then place D2Ds as the final piece of mail per delivery point.

With 800 on my frame half of them are doubles and when you have studio mags and other catalogues its a farce

Really feel for you guys using a "2 to a slot" frame, I've only had to do a few in my time. Total pain in the bum! Hope you get them sorted under your Revisions. We've got a few flats with a Communal letterbox. I like them put six times D2Ds into a large (6) slot elastic band round the lot and fire them through as soon as you can!

P.S Most of the office throw them in first.

With the size of the rounds now it must be impossible to avoid having some double slots.

On a RM2000 frame with 4 wings (the maximum unless you start wrapping around your self) you have 4 rows and 7 vertical sections making 28 "boxes", Each box will hold 20 slots so the maximum nuber of single slots will be 28 x 20 which is 560. So if any walk has more than 560 dp's slots will have to be doubled up.

Back to the original question it looks like if you have to put 12 d2d items into 1 shared slot it just wont go so you will have to put the d2d on the back of each dp as you pick up! You can imagine fun will be had by all.
