Adding Roads on to Duties

Screws at my office are adding roads on to duties apparently following posties around and checking their finishing times.

If they are deemed to be finishing too early they will be given extra roads either from
the posties who are militant and bring the work back/claim o/t every day or a new estate that has gone up.

I thought that once you had signed for a duty they could not add work onto it without a re-sign.

Is this normal practice in RM has this happened at your office I would be grateful for any feed back.

No way, as far as i no if the duty structure is changed it must be a re-sign!! i wud def check that out with the union.sounds like they chance there arm !! stress and more stress that wud be.

Ther has to be a change of 1/3 Of the duties in the office for a resign... But anyway RM cant put more roads on ANY WALK Or Drive.... The 318 IS THERE TO SEE.. If not just ask... should be a walks book in blue on every RM2000 frame....

The clues are there people just find em and stand up for your rights!!

If you are simply altering the delivery route with no other changes then the criteria is significant replotting

We are nearing the end of a mini revision in my office (no savings) and have altered delivery routes but after much scrutiny decided that we had not met the 1/3rd nesscary to trigger a resign.

walks should be for the office not for individuals if they change these walks for the idiots that carve them up they will not be any good for the posties that do it right. When an accident occurs cause someone has cut across the grass slipped and broken something do you think your dom will support you? I can tell you he will say you should not have taken short cuts.....you then try and say it is the only way it can be done on time!!!! Keep saying it but for christ sake think before you rush about, only 1 loser and that's us.

if you see someone following you around it is your duty to protect the mail

phone the police and tell them that you are bring followed by un-knowns.
they shouldn't be doing this, we have had this in the past, this is harrassment.
no duty should be changed just on whim of management.

IF YOUR DUTY CAN BE PROVED TO HAVE SPARE TIME AND THERE IS EXTRA WORK TO BE DONE AND IT IS OPERATIOALLY VIABLE YES DUTIES CAN BE ADDED TO,LETS BE HONEST WE HAVE ALL HAD HOUSES BUILT ON WALKS AND THEY HAVE JUST BEEN ADDED TO YOUR DEL,YOU ARE PAID FOR YOUR HOURS NOT REALLY A SET WALK,IF YOU CANT DO IT CUT OFF

I dont agree Rocks... Mate i signed for a walk Or duty... The 318 is what i work to... Now i understand if a few houses are built on a walk then ok fair play u cater for them But if a few blocks are put on then i think NO WHY SHOULD THAT PERSON BE GIVEN ALL THE WORK WHEN HIS OR HER WALK MIGHT BE HEAVY ENOUGH AS IT IS... Its not just down to location and the fact you have a time to work till.... The 318 IS STILL the guide line i work to no more no less... Ive argued this over n over again.... We all know that some duties are lighter by alot to some others... But that SENIORITY WORKING.... Unless the amount is far to much then a walk test and Pegasus is brought in....

I was reasonable in my DO but i wouldnt take that s**t of another say 20 houses.... NO WAY.... If the screws made me i would claim docket every day for the amount of time it took me to deliver as well as prep there work....

318 is my god.... ALL HAIL THE 318... Bollox to the "AS REQUIRED BIT"

times are changing l tommo you have to watch your back now,if they stuff more on your round it is up to us to proove it cant be done rather than them prove it can,if you refuse and you are caught away early you had better be good at catching books,its all about working to your hours now,you are paid for eg 8 hrs rm now expect 8 hrs work,anyone causing a fuss over a few drop points needs to be able to make their point,dont forget we are all walking round with targets on our back,currently rm seem happy to loose cases and pay out staff to get rid of them if they are full time

I hear your point on work till time... And the quicker the old guard realise that a flyer aint gonna happen no more then the better we will all be... SO DO THE JOB AS PER 318.... Jobs a good un!!

Ive more knifes in my back that Gordan Ramsay has in his kitchens... iM NOT BOASTING... But i hate to take s**t just like all of us on here with morals....

I had my walk tested 3 times and when done properly they found i was over and to heavy..(walk not me) OK ( me as well) So when they put on 6 house on my walk and a long 500 yard stroll up the way and 500 yd stroll back i made em give me something... I got To chuck my coded bundles off and then sort... The blokes went mad but i told em to do the same if they got anymore houses.... END OF..

318 IS OUR LEADER... FECK THE AS REQUIRED!!! IT AINT AGREED SO IT DONT HAPPEN... FULL FECKING STOP!!

I agree with you mate. Problem is we aint got no 318s in our office they disapeared with sdd and aint returned since. So we are told delivery point growth should be absorbed unless a case can be made. And most of them in my office run around like pratts and cant point to to the hours they have run over so absorb the growth. When will they learn when will they learn.

How long can the walks get if this goes on 4hours 4.5hours 5hours?

Where will it all stop?

3.5 Hours, Thats where it stops Wild Cat .That is the max for a delivery as agreed with the union,its down to us to make sure a walk does not exceed this.
Rocks and Tommo i can see and agree with what you both are saying,as long as we all Work as 318 or in my office Job Description and where possible work till your time you wont be able to ABSORB ANY GROWTH.

The agreed 3.5 hour delivery is under threat because of Geo Route. This magicians imp can, apparently, decide for the office what constitutes a 3.5 hour delivery despite the fact that local knowledge and agreement has already set the margins. There are plans afoot to change the deliveries despite the fact that this program is fundamentally flawed.

What would constitute a 3.5 hrs delivery because of content rather than distance and numbers has largely been ignored.
