Is there any office using trolleys in the country

Is there anywhere where more are using trolleys than not or are they just all the same maybe 2 using emm and every one else with the bag.

I know our d.o has now descended into chaos and approx 10% are using trolleys when they should. But when you have managers and dom's threatening staff to speed up i suppose its a natural move to resort to pouch.

Whats annoying is that its obvious this is all over the UK, so its either RM policy or a serious failure of the new system and yet we have no comms from the union on it.

I've done 5-6 P&L duties in our office as cover and none of the regular guys use trolleys having said that most loops are 2-3 bundles at best some only one bundle!

I am very surprised and disappointed with Dave Joyce.
The mandatory use of the delivery methods and "weight off the shoulder" were fundamental to the agreement to move to longer,more flexible delivery spans but the silence over management and member abuse of the system has been deafening.
I was speaking to a DSM last week and he let it slip that he has made it clear to senior managers that he feels they should increase the size of the loops to around an hour to minimise inefficiency, he feels that members are taking the piss taking one and two bundles at a time from the van and slowing the whole process down.
To be honest i fear that members will still stuff an hour's worth in their bag.

What exactly can the union do about it Well the local rep can explain to people that it is policy to use the trolley AND incidentally I saw a letter today which was questioning the validity of accidents on duty and how it is possible to apportion blame if correct procedures are not carried out. That would lend itself to say someone falling carrying a 16kg pouch, which is wrong and not using a trolley which is stipulated, which again is wrong could be blamed for the injury.

The union could write to RM insisting that the agreed delivery methods be adhered to and policed by the managers and the H&S Reps REGARDLESS of the extended time it takes to complete the delivery which SHOULD if georoute IS correct take into account the use of the trolleys. If there is time being made by not using the trolleys what does anyone think RM are going to do? Well I would suggest that LCTs will be allowed to fall into disrepair and that the delivery will be increased AGAIN to utilise the time.

From the experience of our own revision it is faster using the pouch and this saves time but it isnt making time (as in going home early)that is the goal. Nearly everyone is saying that the timing for using a trolley is wrong and consensus from 20 odd people using them for the first two weeks was that this was taking an extra hour to complete a walk, an hour longer than Pegasus had allowed.

The main reason then for using a pouch becomes fear, the managers are doing there same old "why are you getting back late blah blah" and it becomes easier to just cheat, the managers turn a blind eye as always becasue they in turn dont get a hiding off the dom, the dom dosent get hiding from dsm and etc and everyone is happy in their little make believe world.

I have done 2 P&L walks and neither have really needed a trolley! The loops tend to be quite small as your partner has the other part of it so its easy enough to carry. Like today my bag had 4-5 bundles in it but I make them quite small and no bag was very heavy.

I have used it when I have had loads of packets and taken out 2 loops to do that is easier.

Only me and one other guy uses a trolley at my office. Most others use thier cars

As for as BT2010 is concerned cars on delivery is a nono, still if the union let them get away with it, because what is the point of making agreements and then not policing it?

AFAIK most of my office use their trolleys. I always do. I've started tracking myself using a phone app so when the managers question my speed etc I can prove that I've not stopped and done the delivery at the same pace. All the years we've done and its only this revision we are being questioned on our ability to do the job.....f***ing disgraceful!

Really? Well that is never the case for some of the walks. Considering the size of the frame and around the town how close together the houses are you can do them very quickly as next door is within arms reach.

To the people saying loops dont need trolleys.... If it requires a bag then it requires a trolley, they don't go on your back anymore. The only time I leave my trolley in the van is if i only have 1 bundle and no packets = no bag so no trolley.

If you don't use your trolley then your only mugging yourself up because if you do then the job is not workable and something would need to be done.
