On Friday I must have posted a letter through a wrong address. It was simply down to me being stressed up at turning up for work having to do all of my sorting etc. as mentioned in other posts. I've only been at the job on my own for a week so I'm bound to make the odd small mistake as everyone does.
Anyway, I posted a letter a street begining "No. 7 Bloom..." through "No. 7 Broom..." - the man was waiting for me at the end of his drive and had a real go at me. I though he was going to say I'd run over his dog or wife or something by the look on his face! I explained it was a simple mistake and I would ensure it doesn't happen again - but the attidude of some people
Next time you do it ask him to stand at the end of his drive and give you a pat on the back when you get it right, that's what I say to them.
An even better one is to tell them you are a muslim and only Allah is perfect, so you have to make one mistake a day, today was his turn, that one normally leaves them gob smacked too.
One of the lads in our office reckons he tells them it's good to meet someone who is perfect, and has never made a mistake.

Even guys who have been on the same duty for 25 years do it - sometimes you do it when your on auto-pilot and don't even realise. Sometimes you do, the choice is then up to you, run or knock

A house in my last 10mins yesterday I put two different miss sorts into the same house, and I could be wrong, but I think I woke a baby as the first time i lifted the letter boxes cover it slipped out of my fingers and bang shut again.
House was number 46 Bou, I put through 46 Bou, 46 Bur, and 44 Bou.
He came out, I semi apoologied, but by then I had stopped caring being that I was in my 9th hour of a long wet Saturday and the office was due to lock up in 15mins.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I mean if you deliver 1,000 letter a day you will probably misdeliver 2 or 3. We don't have an undo option like computer users.
We have two streets with exactly the same name about 1 mile apart.
They are in different towns but the towns merge.
One has been there 50 years but the other is new development.
The local council are obviously idiots.
