advice needed
our office is currently under goin its revision with a targeted start date 22nd august, the problem we are havihg is our dom prefers to dictate rather than negotiate so we are refusing to sign off the revision off so he stated today that he was bringing it in anyway.we asked if he was doin this under ea he said no,our rep says because we have refused to sign off the revision 3 times he can do this.is this true or bulls..t

Re: advice needed
Go to area rep as this sounds bullocks to me maybe the Dom and rep are in cahutes.
I cant remember reading that anywhere, ask them to show you where it says that.
Ask the DOM to put in writing that he is going to bring it in without it being signed off, I bet he won't.
The men have to give valid reasons though for not siging it off.
Stick to your guns

if its out like our office we started last nov and never had a say in any of it and our great union rep(area) had signed it all off without asking anybody , total nightmare and still is and what a surprise no union rep in sight, so it wouldnt be a surprise if its been sorted. good luck.judith wrote:our office is currently under goin its revision with a targeted start date 22nd august, the problem we are havihg is our dom prefers to dictate rather than negotiate so we are refusing to sign off the revision off so he stated today that he was bringing it in anyway.we asked if he was doin this under ea he said no,our rep says because we have refused to sign off the revision 3 times he can do this.is this true or bulls..t

Re: advice needed
The workforce need to agree the duties. If the rep has refused to have vote on it then vote them out, contact your branch sec and notify them.
Iam at the stage where we have just submitted a disagreement baised on unrealistic insistence of RM sticking to BSI 100 and the staffing levels. And we are at stage 4 and i havent been asked to sign anything to date..................

Due process has not been followed disagreement process should be used and until that is exhausted RML should leave things as they are.

Re: advice needed
The DOM should have done and the rep should not have signed it off as there was no mandate to do so.

Re: advice needed
If your rep has signed it off RM will take it as a done deal and press ahead.Your local rep does not have any authority to sign off a deal without at least explaining the proposals to you the members he represents.Write to your local union headquarters and express a vote of no confidence against your local rep.
Your revision should also not be signed off without a health and safety risk assesment so speak to your local or area H & S rep to see if this has been done.If it hasn't then this should halt the process.

All this and they pay us too!

Re: advice needed
Ive had a letter from my DOM proposing structural change to make savings, accommodate housing growth and ensure all OPGs work all paid work hours. I certainly wont be signing off changes without a mandate to do so, the whole idea of doing that is so totally
. I don't understand why any rep would want to ignore obtaining a mandate.

What if the proposals favoured the "oppressed" minority but was being blocked by the majority who were simply protecting their own best interests?Big Daz wrote:Ive had a letter from my DOM proposing structural change to make savings, accommodate housing growth and ensure all OPGs work all paid work hours. For instance if the proposals favoured a handful of p/t staff in an office but went against the entrenched ideas of a predominantly f/t staff?
Just asking.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: advice needed
I would pass the proposals to the area rep and ask for him/her to assist.

Re: advice needed
found out yesterday that our rep has not signed off yet but has told dom he will do on the 30th hes called a union meeting next wednesday i think hes in for a shock.if we don t accept the set of options the dom says hes bringing it in anyway cos they can t wait any longer all the new dutys have been put up theres been no repick hes says he l start this the same week it starts, there are many more issues that need sorting but it seems our doms not interested, best thing is reps got a permanent sat off and a 5 o clock start.well done that manBig Daz wrote:Ive had a letter from my DOM proposing structural change to make savings, accommodate housing growth and ensure all OPGs work all paid work hours.
