Proof of ID

Hi all, i went to my local Post Office today, where i'm known and was in uniform, i was trying to make a withdrawl but the girl asked me for ID, which was ok i know that's how it works, but the only ID i had was my work one, she said no it's not on the list, and she laughed cause she couldn't believe it either, the manager tried but there was no way round it. On the list on the screen was the usual, driving lic, passport etc and armed forces, or a government issued identification.
Do we not all work under the same umbrella, according to this a Post Office employee would need alternate ID, is that crazy or what?

you could have stolen the uniform and found the work badge in the pocket and known what po the bank was at and looked remarkably similar to the blokes uniform and badge you had
