Dear Colleague,

MIDLANDS REGION UNION LEARNING EVENT: 14TH SEPTEMBER 2011 – WOLVERHAMPTON

Further to LTB 615/11 I am writing to Branches to confirm that the Midlands Region Learning Event will be taking place following uptake from Branches.

The event will take place on 14th September 2011 and the venue is the Chillington Sports & Social Club, Hickman Avenue, Wolverhampton, WV1 2BT. The event will commence at 10.00am and conclude at 4.00pm.

Further detailed information such as the agenda will be sent to Branches via the Regional Secretary and the Regional Learning Committee Secretary in the near future.

Union learning reps

Learning is a key part of union activity because, through learning events, members can come together and create an involved and relevant union within their schools and colleges. At its very core, union learning reps (ULRs) support and help other members with their continuing personal and professional development.

At both branch and workplace level, this means ULRs work closely with members and management to identify ways to improve access and quality of current provision as well as source new opportunities.
