What if a few are off sick?In my office they rely on people doing bits of walks on overtime rather than reserves.

They could cover it on OT or use reserves yes.

If a few are off they could call spare staff from nearby offices. Anything goes really.

Yes but that would still leave the other two halves, and so the other guy might as well take the rest and join the 'man in a van'. In our DO, Park and Loop involves taking out the specials and tracked and large packets anyway.

Thousands of possibilities I guess, but the most important fact is that the problem is out of your pay grade if you are a postie. Let them deal with it.

If you are a 'non driver' though and your delivery point is a distance away, they'll probably move someone who can drive to do the adjoining delivery. If not, they must get you to the delivery point and get you back and provide safe pouch drops. That's the most logical thing to do. (yeah I know :roll: )

Thats from my experience.

If they are REALLY in the s**t, a 'manager' will actually do some work that day. :cuppa :Boo hoo!

What other guy? The two halves are left until next day when the alternates from day 1 are delivered on day 2, then alternated until such time as a replacement turns up it could be a week!

That has to be wilful delay, even using any managers 'excuses'. I only saw that happen during the snow last/this year.

Yes, delivering one handed whilst holding a cup of coffee in the other is problematic! :crazy:

Just make sure the super clean, pressed Hi Viz they wear gets a bit dirty.

Happens fairly often in my office as we are so short staffed.

Usually end's up with people going out & doing the walk on their own (but using a van) & any uncovered duties being carved up & going as o/t. :crazy:

Park & Loop,when it suits in other words...
