This is not an attack on our Full Time Colleagues, just an observation at a particular DO.

Something is seriously wrong when certain, (not all), full time posties only end up doing 5 hours work at our DO and part time posties, on 5 hour a day contracts, are pressured to do upwards of 8 hours on the same day causing more unnecasary OT. (including and to an extent, 'forced' lapsing).

Where are these special 'part time' deliveries CWU?

Some days I really do not understand and I question, the intelligence of our supposed leaders.

Used to be same in my office but now everyones in vans noramlly pt&ft paired and everyone has to come back to office to sign out.There are still easy rounds but they now absorb parts of other rounds to make it up and this is ontop of "summer lapsing".

Are you on park and loop custard?

Start times have moved forward in our DO not backwards, walk sequenced mail has seen to that. We have completed a full revision just awaiting to go live. We are on park and loop and had all bonuses.

35hr contracts starting at 7.40 a few rounds (rural) out the office for 8.40 done for 11.30.

The question was, why if my day is already filled, are managers piling more crap on me and other low contracts? Why not utilise your workforce better.

Most of the p/timers in my office come in an hour early, pester you on the ips for their mail and when you come off the ips they are tying up ready to go!

Same at our place, PT's are doing more work than some of the FT's!

I (was) happy on 25 hrs, now I'm up to 32, I didn't even know officially until the week before the revision that my hours were changing!

Big problem for me is that I don't drive for the company, but management keep forgetting this , then I come in to find myself on a driving job (or a FT job).

Like on Tuesday, 'Oh do the round with a HCT you'll be fine', despite the fact the new fitting isn't designed for HCT and one of the loops is 1 mile away from the second to last loop. In the end I suggested van-sharing with another spare guy and we did it in loops, and that still took us nearly 2hrs 45 given the humongous amount of packets rounds now have to take. Imagine if I'd not known and taken the trolley!

Guys who have been there for years aint got any problems, got the nice cushy jobs, is us newish guys that are fodder.
