Pda's - Why is 'not known' not on there?

You may have a special delivery/recorded which the customer says there is no one of that name at this address,How do you endorse it as 'not known' on the pda?

"Refused" would be a customer I had years ago who would say that they were not signing for any Recorded Deliveries (they were in serious debt at the time). That would be "refused". The person the item was addressed to refused to sign for the item.

That won't help the sender when they check the status of the item. They will assume the intended recipient is still there and potentially spend more money trying again. I agree that 'not known' should be an option.

Surely you could just write 'Not Known' on the packet, and the sender would see that when they get it back. Then they could check with the intended recipient for the correct address or whatever.

Exactly, the person at the address has refused it so you put it in as refused. You can just tick 'unknown' on the killer sticker so the sender knows what's happened.

there is a second scan when the item is RTS by the PHG
so they can then scan it as addressee unknown IIRC
either on the PDA or the old RM guns

Custardly is right :) On indoor settings I'm pretty sure there is an addressee unknown part when you do the return to sender or scanning back into office, been so long I can't remember which tho :D

Sorry its not - Yes we welcome CWU and its members, and they make up the majority of the contributors. However, we are also here for all Royal Mail Group employees, managers and customers and even just those interested in Royal Mail or Union matters.

Also to be fair if people want to discuss PDAs why should we stop then, its a free country.

I work in the RLE. Using the old gun I choose Confirm Delivery/Orange Items Undelivered/ *and this is the point where you can choose why the item was not delivered, UNKNOWN is an option.
