RSI (repetitive strain injury) in elbow

Post by eastie »

I have been suffering for the last few months with RSI in my elbow due to the constant throwing off of letters.
I suppose its the same as tennis elbow.
Does anyone else have this condition and what is the best thing for it to stop the pain , any creams or painkillers because paracetamol wont touch it and are support bandages any good?

Firstly paracetamol is not the right pain killer but Ibuprofen is as its fights inflammation.

Is your meched mail sequenced ? If so try taking handfuls from different parts of the tray to vary the load. I only find my arm aches when I am prepping d2d’s. :hmmmm

Ibuprofen gel can give quick relief as I often use that on my delivery when my ankle plays up. Failing that it could be you have tennis elbow and perhaps might be helped by a quarterize injection into the elbow.

Have you contacted your GP.? :hmmmm

if it is the same as tennis elbow the only thing that cures it is exercise , get a hammer hold the it at the bottom of the handle with your arm straight out in front of you then slowly turn it from 12 o clock to 9 then all the way to 3 o clock there are a lot of good videos on you tube that will help , good luck it takes a while to go
when i am king you will be first against the wall
with your opinions which are of no consequence at all
anyway im cutting off

Icy Hot extra strength cream is only thing that helps mine, had cortizone injections in the past, helped but only for a while. Diagnosis, anti inflammitories, painkillers all help, but aren't a cure. Exercise is the only thing that will help, but wouldn't do this until you have a firm diagnosis :)

RM have said after the union pulled them up about this to do different parts of the walk like Krussel says,if it takes longer then it takes longer.

I recently had NCT(Nerve Conductive Test) on my elbow........cause constantly carrying a bundle in my left arm and the shitty gearboxes on the Convey van I use to drive. It will eventually need operating on but I'm trying to keep that in the distant future by wearing a sports tubigrip bandage when I'm out on delivery. Pain relief like Diclofenac also helps, I tend to take them just before bed then any inflamation/pain has gone by the morning so it can start all over again
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Think I'm needing an NCT done now too storm. Used to experience what you were suffering in left elbow, which has worsened after dislocation of shoulder (probs should have got elbow examined at same time, but thought the pain was coming from shoulder). All this pain started as double tendinitis, aka tennis elbow and golfers elbow. Knew there was a reason I shouldn't be so athletic :nana Now getting pins n needles constantly in left hand. I know it's not CTS as I've had a double repair done and am getting symptoms in the pinky and wrong side of ring finger, ppl with CTS know that you don't get pins n needles on those 1.5 fingers with CTS. Got doctors on Monday to arrange some physio and see what's happening with the rest of the arm.

Who would have thought my dodgy knees could have resulted in all these problems.

The reason I said diagnosis first before exercise, you could be exercising the wrong muscle and end up stretching the already over stretched one.

I went back to the Dr's yesterday Mazza. Well stocked up on Diclofenac now :Very Happy There was a locum there and the NCT notes were'nt back from the hospital. He printed me out info on CTS, told him I've had that and the symptoms were'nt the same  . Apparently when they operate on the elbow they move the Ulnar Nerve rather than choping anything about. With the longer duties and more bundles to carry I think there is going to be a lot of RSI of the elbow.
