Petition against Hayes/Ward

I'm thinking of starting a petition against Hayes and Ward. Clearly they haven't achieved much for the posties and have their own agenda.
An example more full-time security, well this is complete nonsense as RM are pushing part-timers. Plus normal working Saturday. Give us a extra £30 1-3pm.
Whats your thoughts guys??

Or we should we give Hayes/Ward more time to address postmans issues???

A petition is pointless.
You would,at best maybe gather roughly 1000 names..about 1/100th of the postal membership.
If you want rid of Billy and Dave your time would be better spent trying to convince those in the units around you to petition your Branch to withdraw support...a couple of hundred votes at branch level carry much more weight than a couple of thousand at national level.
You should of course have an idea of who you want to replace them.

The CWU's record on Full Time Job security has been excellent. Not one person has been given compulsory redundancy on the factory floor, which is a fantastic achievement in these harsh economic times.

It's easy to complain about the people at the top , what have YOU ever done in your time as a member toimprove the working conditions of the Membership ?

Have you ever stood for the PEC ? Why don't you become an active Member in your branch then go to conference and do something constructive ...

You have a go at others , so you should expect the same....

That's the problem now, too many things are sorted out at local level the cwu has become lots of small unions (individual offices) and it's no longer one big union all standing together. Unless it has anything to do with London then it seems as we all are asked to get involved.

2 weeks - I wish. If it had been that short I might have accepted the, as I saw it at the time, glaring holes in it as a consequence of the short time scale. The disturbing things is that is took from late October Early November till early March to produce a deal they thought we should accept. I don't know whats more worrying that it took a long time to come up with the deal, holes and all, or that fact they did not realize the impact it would have.

What we should do is every office should get together in some kind of..."club"..maybe elect a spokesperson to convey our problems to local management and these "spokespeople" could maybe get together and form some kind of "Area Club" and we could elect one or two of them to run it and they could maybe pass on our worries to the Area Managers then the "Area Clubs" could form some kind of "National Club" who could convey our problems to the big bosses.
We could all kick in a couple of quid a week just to keep it ticking over.
I'm struggling for a name for the "club" though.
