I haven't worked a Saturday in 15 years working for RM, all of a sudden this revision is coming in and I'm told I am goin to have to work Saturday's. Is it just tough luck for me, or can I maintain my Saturday day off ???

Not a Dom but my contract was mondAy to Friday 40hr, they always tried that old, ya have to get ur walk covered if you want it off.... I said yeah right, and after a lot of hassle n threats of rotated day off. It went away. But this is new and I wanted to know if there's an ex use I can use that can't be ignored

We recently had a re-sign because of the P & L revision and all of the guys that had fixed Saturdays off for the past x amount of years have lost them. A lot of them have gone for the 5 on 1 off rotation instead, then at least you get 1 Saturday in 6 off.

A few guys who have court orders to take their kids have been granted Saturday's off... I need an idea like that

It will depend on what the new duty structures consist of. If the duty as is has not changed then you can get an exception.

Count yourself lucky and look back fondly on those 15 years....... welcome to going to work early on a saturday morning and watching the party people make thier merry way home after a fun night out!

Working saturdays is probably what I hate most about this job, it sucks bigtime!

Saturday is like any other working week within the royal mail. You are the only postie that i know that has 15 years service and can get a mon-fri...the service is usually a lot more to get a mon to fri shift unless the shift is crap.

Everyone in our office is Monday to Friday, but they made the mistakes of signing up to the Saturday bond. I wasn't so foolish... But now it's bein forced upon me....
