Shin Splints

Post by Stormproof »

Anyone else suffer from this?
I had it in the past but now its come back with a vengance. It was agony trying to complete my delivery today. Felt like I had broken my leg. I think now I'm walking over 10miles a day its set it off again.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Anything is worth a try for them, they're a nightmare ... Raise ur foot and point your toes out too stretching the muscle round ur shin bone... This will help too, but be careful not to cramp, u should do this stretch before n after ur walk.

You need to woman the hell up if you ask me.

I don't suffer, personally. I'm a robust youth - I'm sure after a few more years of working for RM, I'll be a sickly, crippled youth, with many a tale to tell of my creaking joints, broken extremities, and frayed tempers.

I'm getting too old to be walking around for hours in 25c+ temperatures. I use to be able to walk 8-9 miles no problem but the extra few miles are doing me in. Image

Meh, what do you expect? This is not a job for anyone who's getting even slightly old any more. People say to me that postmen are getting younger, I think the truth is that RM are crippling the older ones quicker. The future of the work-force with the current delivery lengths will be young, robust men. The days of the all shapes and sizes postmen are dying.

Which is sad, really.

Everytime I've seen my Dr with some injury/ailment caused by this job he just tells me to change employers. For some reason he absoultely hates RM managers so I guess hes had a run in with a few in the past :hmmmm

Funny you mention that as a few years back i was off sick and my dom ws trying to get me back to work earlier than i felt i could. I only just mentioned it to my doctor in conversation and he banged out a really sharp letter on the spot  He said that he would normally charge for it but gave it for free.

I got the same impression as you :left:
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
