Lapsing Question
We are currently doing the summer lapsing thing in our office, but on Monday our DOM sent 2 part timers to another office and then lapsed their duties. Is he allowed to do this?

He can if he has the capacity, if people are finishing early then he's always going to try to save his budget.

Can a DOM or otherwise delay or push through mail quicker to make a day lighter/heavier so that additional lapsing can be done on the light days?
In our office we've had some "conveniently" quiet Wednesdays to allow for extra lapsing, the remainder of the week has been heavier...

No...even if he could..
1.It's beyond his control to dictate what comes from the MC.
2.If caught hiding mail he would...end up on gardening leave.
3.The lapsing agreement doesn't allow anything that effects QofS.

we had mail sort in clearly stated for another day our DOM took lable off then denied knowing it was for the following day

Strange how Wednesday is yet again quiet (when we conveniently have to do extra lapsed-lapsing and Thursday is absolutely battered........ Not that I'm suggesting the DOM or others are in anyway up to no good, god forbid3.The lapsing agreement doesn't allow anything that effects QofS.

a job over and above what the office normally absorbs every day.
then prepare for back breaking catch up days im sure it stems from the mail centres our dom is not responsible
its far to regular and organized
