Is there a limit to the amount of flats on a walk?

Well in a full revision it should be adjusted as blocks of flats are classed different than houses in georoute.

On a H/S point of view iam not sure other than a risk assesment following a RS injury.

ive read some of the royal mail literature on our wall at work.
it does state that there shouldnt be too many blocks on the same walk....not sure of what the percentage is though.(steps)

I heard a max of 50/walk.
But I can't confirm it or provide a link.

I also heard that anything over 35 would be classified as predominantly steps and be limited to 3.5hr delivery span.

I actually contacted the H&S about this to see if there was any real regulations concerning the number of steps that should be tackled in a day before it becomes a dnager or unhelathy...their answer was that there is no regulations or guidelines on this whatsoever.

I do 6 tower blocks of 22 floors each every day :-(

sorry guys but they are having a laugh somewhere with this - I can't give details as it'll identify me completely if anyone in my office reads this, but seriously, if they are thinking of limiting the number of tenement flats to 33ish over 3.5hrs, posties really have to going at snails pace.

I don't run, I move at a sensible pace depending on the conditions, I can complete a duty with many many more tenement flats than 33 in under 3 hrs. I'm not blagging and I don't think it's healthy, but I know that I'd be bored if they reduced my drop points significantly.

As for fatigue levels, there is no chance at all really for recovery.

And while I'm at it, there are often more than two delivery points in old style tenement flats.

Back to the original question though, if there is a limit, my walk definitely exceeds it, so the answer would be of interest.

It doesn't say that 33 tenements is a 3.5hr delivery.
It says the maximum number of tenements should be 33. The rest of the duty should be made up of front doors, shops, flats with lifts or bizarrely 2 ups which don't appear to count as part of the tenement study.
Obviously this is going to be very difficult to do in some areas and may require some PLANNING.

planning? wtf is planning? doesn't it just go along the lines of, this bit of this place needs delivered, I know, lets put it on this walk? like what happens when they come along an redevelop an area for example...

seriously though I've been here long enough to know about planning - I just struggle to see how that idea can be embraced when some offices comprise mainly of tenements and these fabled front doors and buildings with lifts are a long way off.
