How long can a suspension last ?

Post by krussel »

We currently have 3 postie’s suspended for wilful delay. Two of them have had fact finding meetings and are now awaiting the results but the third has yet to be even interviewed.

Does anyone know if there is a time limit that they can keep a person hanging on with the suspension before they make a decision ? :hmmmm

Thanks.

So the answer is - the suspension can last as long as it lasts but will be reviewed at "reasonable" periods. (whatever that means)
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I can't be bothered to consider the matter further and I have decided that you should remain suspended with pay as from (date).
The reason for my decision is it will teach you a lesson even if I can't eventually sack you, and will discourage all of your colleagues from annoying us.
It also means I can piss your Area Rep off as well.

This is the standard letter they would send out if they were being honest.

Or...

I have decided to fabricate this charge of wilful delay because to be honest i've arsed up the revision and you're the only one not coming in early and running around covering my failings.
It would be detrimental to my job prospects and bonus if any of your colleagues were to somehow follow your lead so rather than go down the NCI route that might make me look foolish i've decided that my impotence as a manager should be concealed forever.

Yours Sheriff Fatman.

So one guy has been suspended for 6 days without any "fact find" which is a MISTAKE by the dom.

The other 2 can be kept off for as long as they want as long as they are shown to be review it at reg periods. :no no
