Grievence advice needed asap

I've got to put a grievence in against a manager regarding them issuing a Sickness Stage 2. What do I write? I spoke to the AR this morning and he told me but I've been out in the sun all day and I've forgotten everything

If the grievance is against your manager for issuing the stage you haven't got a grievance.

you don't know the issues behind the stage so you can't say that.
the manager could have(should read"probably will have") issued the stage without following procedure or is using this procedure to "get back" at stormproof.you don't know.

LM issued a Stage 1 for an Operation I had for an AOD, I've had 2 seperate abscences since then totalling 8 days (1x6days for after op problems and 1x2 days puking). Stage 2 triggered and issued for the 2 days I was off puking. Area Rep says I need to put in a personal grievence I just don't know where to start.

watch your back this dim sounds just like the one who because i was pursuing a grievance built conduct against me with a bit of help from HR and his then cluster manager and got me dismissed but like me daddy always taught me what goes round comes round

Stormproof as you are probably aware there are no appeal rights to a stage 1 or stage 2 warning. However if you have a grievance because you believe the Lino has not taken due account of all of the facts, then I would have thought that it is reasonable to raise a grievance.

All you need to do is put on record why you feel the decision that was taken did not reflect the fact that your stage 1 warning was issued against an accident on delivery, which under the regulations should not have been taken into account. You raised this matter with the issueing manager at the stage 2 warning but again he declined to take proper account of this. In order for this matter to be rectified you want all stage warnings against you recinded.

The worst that can happen is that they reject your claim. However you will have this on record and should you go to stage 3 where you have the right to appeal, you can bring this back into the discussions, and you also have it on record if you were to go to an IT.

Thanks Lincox, I'm sure thats what the AR said but my memory is completely shot today. Will put it in tomorrow when I hand my unsigned Stage 2 back to LM.

Sure it's not for the op problems. Think its over five days off that 'triggered' it. (Max five days off in six month period (10 days combined) - lasting one year?)

But YES, stick in that grevience. Not saying it WILL go this far but in a tribunal it helps to show you tried to notify them of problems a while before any 'sackings'.

Stage 2 is triggered by having 2 absences or more than 9 days in any 6 month period after a Stage 1 is issued, if the 2 sicknesses were within 6 months of each other then he's right to interview you about them, then it's up to him whether he issues it, most will so just try and stay clear for the next 12 months and you'll be removed from the procedure......simples!

Yeah simples unless you happend to get run over by a car or strain your back lifting a mailbag or get hit by a tile off a house or a dignity at work poster or the space aliens invade or the world ends.....What then????

Simply accepting an unwarranted stage and trying to stay clear for 12 months is never a good idea.
Even if you are very lucky and do manage to get through the next 12 months although you are off the stage it remains on your overall record.
If you do find yourself at stage 3 a review of your overall employment/sick absence will be used to help determine whether you stay...or go.
It's very difficult to argue that a member has just been unlucky or had a bad year if their record is littered with stages from day 1.
At least if you raise a grievance you can show that you and hopefully your rep are unhappy with the procedure used to issue the stage warning.
If RM want to use a mechanistic approach to stages we should at least return the favour with a grievance.

but you could send it to rugby so they note it like a stage 3
