first week over

Well thats the first week over done all me shadowing and training since wedensday last week and what can i say really like the job. But hope these sore legs and feet go away soon. tommorrow will be the challenge been put on my own duty for a few weeks taken over from someone thats on the perm sick. shouldnt be to bad as it me mams old estate and no all the streets. already boxing me own frame in and banding up the walks. used the pda for fist time on thursday and friday and found it a dream to use. all i can say to new starters who have never done this job before ask as many questions you may have dont just be shy and book in all overtime you have done im on a 20 hour contract but ive been in from 6.20 to 2pm since wedensday and 5.20 on saturday like i say book all over time in over your contracted hours and dont be frightend find the overtime book and get it done. only problem really ive had boxing in is sorting the loose mail trying to be quick to find the streets but you will soon get the hang of it

exactley why on earth wouldnt you get paid for the time you have put in a job a job we are not a charity.
some people on here must be frightened to put it down and work for nothing well thats up to them if they want to be stuck up the gaffers arse

hannie...get some time under your belt before you sit in judgement mate.
You won't have a problem getting paid for starting before your time because they have asked you to.
Wait until you start booking extended...then things might change.

Of course your entitled to it but you'll realise soon enough that some of the managers in this place are devious bastards...keep a separate account of what you do and an eye on the docket...they have a habit of disappearing.

Best idea regarding the notebook! log down your days off in it too and if they fall on a Bank Holiday make sure you get them back!
