Don't you just love it when...

Post by BingBong »

you have a debate/argument with someone over the fact you didn't (even though you know you definatly did) ring their door bell and knock several times before leaving them a card.

Also love the fact the guy tried to get his parcel off of me 3 hours after i left the card. he just spotted me and thought he'd try his luck i guess but the parcel was long gone back in the van to the office.

called me a dirty liar and everything then dropped his card in a puddle lol!!!

Sometimes I think they won't answer the door as they're trying to avoid someone, then when the mail and the card comes through thats a sign to open the door. That pisses me off.

The best is when you see on their door "Bell not working". Its always the bloody people who get lots of packets.

I always now ring the bell then knock straight away afterwards, at least i know that if the bell dosent work then the knock will, luckily now everyone who lives on my delivery knows i do this and know its me, but Ive been there before being told i didnt knock, or ring when you know you have.

the only thing that annoys is why dosen't the public realize that if we have a packet why wouldn't we knock or ring the bell whats the point???

Debt collectors swarm round the sink estate where I deliver like a horde of locusts (or should that be parasites trying to feast on the parasites?). You've never seen so many curtain twitchers in one area (unless you've attended a gynaecologists' convention).

i had a funny incident the other day on my lapsing just delivered a letter when no sooner had it hit the mat the old git came running "oi dont leave parcels near the back door someone could nick it!" i said i hadnt "right i will show you he says" goes inside to get the packaging remains and it turns out a courier like DHL or someone had left it, stupid old git got a bit apologetic after that " i thought it wasnt you your normally quite good" like i said a bit. I huffed and then had a giggle behind his back. I hate couriers giving us a bad name. but i hate lapsing more people now think we are christmas temps and cause they dont know us well we get treated like crap.

Nail on the head.... for me they leave it a good few minutes BEFORE opening the doors. Most posties round here think its coz they thinks its the police of immigration or both.

Me I know them and have headphones so if they want the item they can come after me and ask politely. I'm not playing silly buggers with anybody.

Exactly. For me, if I have a parcel left it means a trek back to the office which is miles away. Time taken to write out the card, what do they think, we earn money for every parcel we bring back?

Guy called the manager to say I didn't knock when I did (along with ringing the bell, standing around, knocking, ringing the bell, knocking, writing out card, ringing the bell and knocking), manager called near the end of shift saying to redliver tha parcel which makes me late and then delays a whole streets worth of mail which had to wait until tomorrow.

No more requests since then :nana

I always try to get their attention somehow, then push the letters half way through, then they somehow wake up and open the door.
