Its sorta working in our office i'd say most of rounds are ok but we need more people on ips on busy days that seems to be where they cutting hours now.

We've only had it a few months and its quietest time of year so test will come in sept/oct expecting chaos and plenty docket over xmas

Works when it's light. Today was the lightest day I think I've ever seen and we were done 2 hours early. Yesterday was also light and it took us to our time.

If anything I think internet shopping is going to increase as the population becomes more computer savvy. There's plenty on my delivery who never used to order online who do now and in the "slower economy" it tends to be easier to shop online as you get the better prices and much better options. More people are realising it beats traipsing round shop after shop in the Xmas crowds.

Also, aren't we supposedly in a recovering economy - the big financial mess (Northern Rock etc) happened before last Xmas and that was not a quiet Christmas on the parcels front.

Our office is bringing in P&L. This week we're doing it in pairs from the van but on our normal walks so we can get used to little things like PDA's, van checks and the additional signing in/out for vans & fuel cards etc. Mon & Tue were early finishes but the new walks haven't been brought in and it has been light.

The newly planned (and absolutely massive) deliveries come in next week and I'd say we're going to struggle even at this time of year.

The HCT duties have already been brought in and are going absolutely to their limit & sometimes over. It needs to be a v.light day for them to come in under their time - either that or a prat of an OPG rushing round to make it work. Already there's been cut-offs and the now mandatory bullying from managers and the DIM.

From my experience it's the people who DON'T use light weight trolleys and cut the job up that it works for, for everyone else it's a massive fail.

Had yet another set of planners in yesterday 3rd lot so far and they are still not happy with the level of savings
Their current proposals will not work and nothing is being signed off but now they are saying that it is ok not to use the trollies on the p & l duties, how can this be true?


I tried to tell them that the trollies were introduced to take weight of the shoulder, they said yes but places were it dont work then it is ok to work with a smaller bag and do smaller loops.(think outside the box to get it to work was repeated several times)

Is there any documentation I can shove in their faces to stop this and get them to do the job properly.

Both managers and planners are pushing ahead without any input from the men as they are refusing to pay for the men to ingage in talk during shift working hours, they want us to come in in our own time and sort things out.

Are there any set rules to follow for setting up p & l as they are saying that there are only guidelines?

I think the only place where LWT's can't be used is on loops with flats. One of my duties is mainly flats and I have 10 loops. I've got no documentation but I'm sure someone on here has
