Hi,

We have a strongly rumoured new start time of 7 starting in october. I have a child minder booked around my current times. How do i stand if i object to my starting time changing? I guess the attitude will be 'don't like it, leave. Constructive dismissal then? Anyone fought it at their office?

to my knowledge it dont say what time you start on your contract. only that you do the job in such a such way. fact you like many have a life outside of r.m is not r.m problem. as you said r.m attitude is like it or lump it, that is how its gona be. wouldnt be suprised if it be 9 o/clock starts soon

You can request they look at a "family friendly" duty for you.
They have a legal obligation to consider it.

Are there any duties you are trained to do that would fit in with your needs?

That's the near exact reply I got from my Dom when we had later starts. Lump it etc. Job or not.

If they refuse ask for it in writing and explain you'll be using it if the situation ever gets bad enough for an employment tribunal, they'll soon find a family friendly duty for you :cool
