How bad would the job have to get, for you to jack?

If the job was causing me maddening stress, I'd hand my notice in immediately.

I don't have kids, nor a (serious) girlfriend, so it's easier for me to ditch a job and just survive.

We knew we were going to finish later but it came out of the blue on Thursday when next weeks rota went up. 06.10 start and 13.38 finish which no doubt will be later when we move office in the near future. The people who have come up with these times in my office don't work Saturdays

it does. we have been told to make a choice between season tickets and a job, and that the manager was available for notices to be handed in if the season ticket was chosen. some lads have already bought theirs and will have no chance of getting there

I plan to go when we get privatised.
Just will be a case of waiting to see what i can get before leaving,most deffinatly i am not willing to work for less money.I do aim to stay in the job until the nd of next year and leave in 2013 some time thats my plan unless it is scuppered by the royal mail.

thats only 7hrs 28 mins a day, what about your meal breaks? christ, we are 6.10am start, last letter 14.30, then 15mins to return to office to pouch off, return pda etc, then last 20 mins of our meal break. making it a 15.05 finish.

Sad, but I think you.ve hit the nail on the head! Odds on, that once most old full timers are replaced with casuals etc, things will revert back!
