have i got a job or not

hi all
i am a newby
went for an interveiw 3 weeks ago at my local del office. i passed and got put on the waiting list.
got a phone call yesterday saying there is a job at a different local office. i said i was very intrested.
the lady says they are going to do the security checks and some one shall be in contact within 14 days.
does this mean i have got the job

As long as you pass the checks then yeah, they will contact you with an induction date and start date. If you don't hear from them within two weeks ring them back and give them a nudge, as for me personally they forget to send the checks off so the whole process was delayed by 14 days
