DOM at LS8 has banned the red polo shirts.He says they can't be worn at LS8 because we have the new issue uniform yet the rest of LS area seem to be wearing them.Last year he sent a lad home for wearing one.What's the position on wearing them?

Red polo shirts are part of the new uniform. They are on the order sheet when you get it and they have been shown in the articles in the Courier about the new uniform. Your DOM is a twat and doesn't know what he is talking about.

I thought I read in the uniform 'what is permitted to be worn' guide that red polo shirts are not allowed to be worn by customer facing staff. it was news to me as most people wear them in my office. Except me as I wear a leopard skin dress with cloggs and a kiss me quick hat.

When the red polo shirts first came out they were for non-customer facing jobs only. This changed quite a long time ago though.

Obviously some DOMs are stricter than others. There's a bloke in my office who wears a blue RM shirt and whatever trousers he feels like. Some days he comes in wearing an international football shirt!

The lad in question left a few weeks later so nowt happened.Don't think anyone has a red shirt now as we had to hand them in when we got our new issue.

I must of been away what new issue shirts,as far as i know Red shirts are current issue,got four new ones last year when i got a whole new uniform cargo style shorts/cargo style trousers,red jacket ect

Just got my full rig out last week . 2 shirts 2 trousers 4 RED POLOS etc etc etc

When we got the cargo trousers etc DOM said red shirts were old issue and only blue shirts to be worn.

What happens if you have no blue shirt, and you can't have one because you have just got 4 new red polo's? Will the DOM get you blue shirts? Will he get you four? I doubt it.

If its just customer facing staff who can't wear them, who is that? Does it include normal posties who don't come into contact with customers until they are out on the streets, and when their shirt is covered up anyway, so it could be bloody pink?
