When do you get used to the pain?
Been working as a postie for just over three weeks now. My feet really hurt, my calf muscles ache and when I carry my bags (even light loads now) I get pain in my back. Does your body ever get used to it?
Thanks
Thanks

Never, we're all totally fubar
And now to be a little bit serious
Stretch out before you go out, especially your calf muscles.
Don't run........ever
Make sure you stick to the correct weights for your bags.
Keeps you bundles small, it will help.
And Ibuprofen (400mg) taken for a while will take away the pain and reduce any swelling that occurs (but not high doses for a long time because it'll mess up your stomach)
And your fitness will increase over the next few months

You will get used to it but then you will need a hernia operation.

It will hurt a lot during your first few months but you do get used to it after time. I found personally that it was a gradual thing until i no longer noticed any extreme muscle aches. I dont think it will ever go away completely though as its quite a physical job!

Re: When do you get used to the pain?
As others have said you will have to work through the pain wall, sorry
Try to get as much rest and stay off your feet after work, if this is possible.
A warm soak in the bath as soon as you get home helps to stop any cramp and I ve also found a glass of wine and an early night helps
It will get better as your fitness improves.
Then you go on holiday for 2 weeks and have to do it all over again

Yep, goes away until you get old and decrepid, then it hits you even more, but hey they still expect you to move at the same pace as a 20 year old.
