Planners a waste of time and money

Post by eastie »

After all that time wasted by planners on doing park and loop over 6 months at our office.
I was called into the office this week after 6 weeks of park and loop and I redone my loops in half an hour .
How can they call it a loop if neither of you dont end up anywhere near the van :arrrghhh
There were houses missed on my loops ,there were houses added that didnt exist , loads of deadwalking that was unneccessary , and I was bundling up my way and not the way it was set out.
As for the planners coming back, theyre not interested, they just go on to the next office and its left to us to pick up the pieces

Funny that, we're on our second planner after the first one messed everything up (about five months work). This one assures us the errors made will be corrected and this time the loops will work and the walks will be achievable...Oh how I pissed myself laughing!

But shouldn't all have that been put right at the very start when you validate your walk logs and your A+ "champion" does his/her thing.
And wouldn't someone have mentioned it when they were doing their Sid and Nancy?

The planners are just doing a job like everyone else, but its doing the job properly that matters. Planners are meant to get feedback from us posties that know the area, that way the structure of the walks can be planned better. Problem was that the planner thought he could do it himself and did not need any help from us, how wrong was he.

Half the walks in my office had to be re-planned again, but it wasn't the planners that sorted the mess out, but us posties. We had to sit down with a pen & paper and plan the walks the way they were mean to be done, so as it would correspond with both posties finishing at the same time on loops.

About several months ago we had people testing the walks and getting their input on the matter as posties were not finishing the duties on time. Their conclusion was that the walks were too big, loops were too short, and there was also alot of dead walking in some parts. This was the planners doing for walks being too big, loops too short, and dead walking. But no one will take the blame for the shambles been caused.

All this talk of savings will not happen for years to come and its not just one office alone. Royal mail have wasted money on incompetent planners that can't plan.

Planners are twats. Usually ex posties even ex union reps who have decided to take the walk of shame into management but alas they fail here as well, so whats left, oh yeah lets make em planners. They take no notice of any input from the staff, sit down drinking coffee, laughing and joking with the other managers (who they really detest cause they want to be a manager) whilst they decide on a 4hr walk which really takes nearer to 5 hours when actually out on the delivery. You''ll spot them a mile off as they've put on about 4 stone since being sat on their arse for 2 years doing nowt.

Planners are only doing a job and being told that they must do as the system says, fact is they are there to do the job then go it is not their fault, they get beaten up as well by their managers. The system is the problem if you put lies in you get lies coming out of it trust me,you should see some of the twaddle!

I think we all know that, only doing as they are told does not make them any better but worse IMO, taking the money to knowingly screw people over :no no

Reminds me of Nazi Germany...The SS were only following orders when they shaved Jews hair to make socks for soldiers before gassing them and burning the naked bodies after stripping them of gold teeth and wedding rings.....but hey those Germans sure know how to follow orders what a great example to us all they are.

I don't think you can compare a fat twat in a pink shirt playing with mapping verification with an SS officer gassing Jews. :no no

Rather scarily, Clash, our planner wears a black shirt and shaves his head!

But, as you rightly say, no comparisons should be made.

I am of the belief that there is a greater force at work here....planners and DOMS are being asked to bring in revision which they know will fail to get the service to rock bottom then when privatisation comes it will be heralded as the savior of RM and the public will be fooled into supporting this. The CWU cannot pull out of BT2010 without losing face and neither can RM. Net result chaos and catastrophy for the working man.
