part time to full time

Post by liamdion »

can any one help? under the 2010 revision between managment and the cwu we were told that part time workers were to be made up to full time hours if the full time employment rate in offices was below 75% (to make up the short fall) can anyone tell me if this is still the case as i can't seem to get an answer from my union rep

The part-time/full-time ratio was always a national ambition not an office target.
Some offices will have 90% full-time...some will have 60%.

How have they changed the agreement?
The 75/25 split is a national "ambition". The agreement didn't say that each individual office would have a 75/25 split.
Some will have a higher ratio of f/t staff and some will have less.
It isn't rocket science.

The agreement..
That the operational transformation programme and associated workplan support the nationally planned staffing mix of around 75 percent full time/25 per cent part time.

The mix of full time and part time is planned to be around three quarters full time and one quarter part time by 2013. The exact ratio will vary locally depending on the current local mix, needs and employee preferences.

You can probably surmise where most of the '90%' offices are situated. :shhhhh

what is the criteria for part time being made up to to full time??-We are being told thats is length of service only !nothing else is taken into account--that surely is discrimination????

new duties should be advertised as such and al criteria taken into account in the promotion

anyone got any RM policy ??

cheers

What criteria other than length of service did you have in mind?

Hi again,i'm guessing the letter was about voting yes in the ballot for 2010. :cuppa

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Sounds like the letter from your BS could have been a little more detailed so as to avoid confusuion and misunderstandings. Did your D.O CWU notice board have any of the agreement on it?
