Delivering the Littlewoods catologues?

I believe, but would appreciate confirmation, that items weighing more than 1.25Kg do not have to be taken out by walking posties i.e. those with bikes; "golf trollies"; HCTs etc. whose depots have not had the P&L revision.

So when said catologues weigh just short of 3Kg, I was shocked to discover many drivers were kicking up a stink when walkers tried to offload these. Considering in addition to the weight threshold being far exceeded, it is also Sky mags delivery week, you would think that walkers would be a little more thoughtful about the weight of items they are taking out and the long term health repercussions (backs, hernia, knees etc.).

What did the walkers do at your depot?

We took them out today, albeit i only had 3 (one for each bag) I had 2 for one house which went with a driver.

I'm sure I remember when BBs were announced in the Courier that they would be taken by the drivers but that's never happened in our office; in fact we have to take bigger than the packet guide because, and I quote - "It was never agreed with the union".

Yeah we got these bb (big b%st%rds) in last saturday,,,dom wheeled over the york of them and shifted quick,,,never were we told they are to heavy so a driver takes them,,,,didnt even enter my head that we could throw em out to the drivers,,,and to be honest our driver would tell me were to go.

luckily i only had a few,,,and 2 had to go in 1 bag,,,i crossed over and delivered 1 of them to save going up an down a road with the weight.

We had these in yesterday and as a walking/cycling postie we had to take them, but were told we could do them over a couple of days. I was lucky i only had to take 1.

I had 20 on my walk, and had 2 at the same address a couple of times but being park and loop the Driver delivered them.
The DOM said not to doorstep them and leave a docket .....Yer right

I had 1 today. I have a good driver, he would definitely have taken it. But I don't put a gram of weight on my back any more anyway - I've got a bike to do that - so I took it without any fuss. No surprise that the frakker wasn't in and I had to 739 it, but meh. I finished exactly on time so I can't complain.

I must be in a good office. We haven't had them (yet?) but this kind of thing, like the National Trust mags with free books inside, and light bulbs, always go with drivers, with walkers helping out when they can (which is usually never).

My bags never ever exceed 11Kg, so if I had a few of these catalogues, I'd be doing a hell of a lot of dead walking, and claiming.
