HUDDERSFIELD LOCAL MEETING TODAY 31 AUG 07
Right for those in Huddersfield the meeting was held today from 02:30 to 3:15 - there was a lot of feeling and discussions especially about the late notification of suspension of strikes. However, the salient points for those that were not able to attend are the following resolutions were adopted:
1. That we as a group, attempt to, on an unofficial basis, get everyone at the Huddersfield office to work to their 318s (not a work to rule), it is not to be imposed on those who do not wish to take part but will involve Voluntarily:
No Private vehicles use.
No taking extra bags to drop points
No taking passengers in vehicles to their drop point.
No overtime.
Everyone to use Public transport and claim for it if required.
No starting early.
Please note that this is voluntary and cannot be considered as either official or unofficial action merely working to the contract previously agreed..
2, Regarding late starts. We have asked the Union to approve a ballot for Industrial Action up to and including Strike Action if Royal Mail attempt to impose later starts either on a National or Local basis, without getting a local or national agreement on start times.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
