Getting Bank Holidays Owed To You
Every bank holiday I get it put down as my day off with the line "you get it back" - how do I make sure I get it back though? I've built up a week now and also had a week booked back in January but was off sick. How do I make sure I get these, I don't know how to check...

You should be able to request a leave sheet (forget proper name) from the dom - shows days owed, bank holiday lieu days, days booked, days owed...

Do what slave says and see what's on there,chances are all your BH days wont be,it's par the course. 
Also are you a reserve? Why are you allocated them all the time,you need a word with the rep me thinks.

My duty was done away with about two years ago and nothing has went up on the board since so yeah I'm a reserve. Ask for a copy of your Annual Leave Card. It should be up to date with your latest B/H credits. Ask your writing room why your not sent one every year - every now and again I ask for an updated one or I`m sent one anyway if I swop A/L etc. Maybe your manager keeps hold of them to keep you in the dark.

Always had to keep a diary when I was in RM, just to keep note of the bank holidays owed, maybe a wee lesson for the future. Shouldn't need to of course, but when dealing with some of the managers....

Make sure you chase them up on it too... they have a habit of "forgetting" days off that fall on bank holidays. I get two this year, one I've had already and I went straight in the office that week to make sure I got it! Better to get it sorted asap while everything is fresh in your mind!
