So, after 3 months with RM and spending the majority of my time on the same walk I've now been shifted off it to allow the latest new joiner get to grips with it. This week I've acheived 5 days with 4 different walks, none of which I've been trained on or even seen before.
Yesterday, was a crippler using an HCT for the first time, Before I left the office I asked the manager 'Is there a list of stopping points to park the HCT and then just walk loops with a bundle or two?' 'No' was the reply 'Just follow the mail'. After 4 hours pushing & dragging the HCT all the way up & down dale with me I get picked up in the van and the driver asks 'Did you get given the tie up & delivery sheet that shows you where to leave the HCT and do loops?' :evil/mad
Surprisingly, today I used the crib sheet and cut an hour off my walk time & still have some feeling left in my legs. Lesson learned - never ask a manager for walk advice, see the guys & girls who do it every day.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

that just sums up how bad are doms are, we have bad postman, but the bad doms outnumber them a million to one!!!

Live and learn, never ask management how to do a delivery, they have no idea at all :no no

Definitely a low risk area and non of the loops away from the HCT are more than 10mins.

The sum total of planning is pretty well summed up by the latest summer lapsing:

3 duties have been lapsed, 1 for all week and 2 for 3 days - at face value it seems OK, if lapsing is necessary - however here's where the plan falls down - the bulk men do the large packet specials, one set of park and loopers do the large packets for the same duties including the tracked and yet another set of park and loopers do the actual delivery :shock: Oh yes you really couldn't make it up, so you have three vehicles and potentially 5 people visiting the same street, now there's a saving to be made................ somewhere
