Texts from union

I have only been in the union about a month and have been getting a couple of texts a week about the usual old crap ,this is not a problem but this week i had 5 texts in the space of a couple of minutes asking to vote for so and so in the upcoming elections. These were all from the same candidate. As he was my local candidate i was going to vote for him but he has now lost that vote

the cwu came round our office asking for e mail addresses

why dont they write to every member and collect phone no. email etc?

we should then have up to date info from both HQ and area

If you have any problem in the way the union are contacting you, login to the members section on the CWU website http://www.cwu.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This will then give you access to the Member Updates page, where you can add or remove phone numbers, email addresses and work and home addresses.
If the texts continue, it's your branch you need to contact. Or you could return one of the messages with the request to be removed from their list.

Don't encourage the union to communicate even less ffs.
The only txts i get from the union say "please leave us alone" and "stop bothering us or we'll take out an injunction".

FT, i hear what you're saying, but the OP is complaining about being badgered by all the texts he's receiving from one source. No one should have to put up with that, but it does look like a branch problem for him, not a national CWU one
