Stamp cancelling.

Well i've been reading this board for a while and here's me taking the plunge with what could possibly be a stupid question.
I've noticed over the last few weeks that a large amount of the mail i deliver is not having the stamps cancelled.
Fair enough there has always been a few but this is more than just a few i counted 6 to one house yesterday.
Is this a nationwide thing?
I've not worked in processing for 20 years or so but back then the mail was counted as the stamp was cancelled is this still the case?
I'm wondering if this is another ploy to make the mail figures appear less.

For the last 15 years canceling stamp hasn't been a priority for Royal Mail, and now they got the above tamper proof ones.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to re use "tampar proof" stamps. So cencel or not make no difference

Who gives a fook, I just get paid for delivering the shite.

The same people that are anal about cancelling stamps are the same ones that surcharge kids cards for being 1mm too wide, and desperately try to 'watch and win' so they can get a £5 voucher for earning RM £1 million pounds worth of revenue.

If we give customers free stamps to reuse we're encouraging them to send more letters and not pay anything which directly increases the workload for us poor sods delivering the free mail but because as far as RM is concerned the letters don't exist, it only adds to their myth that volumes are down and we're just lazy and slow.
