waterproof jacket not waterproof!

Well having said we needed a lightweight waterproof jacket for years it was great to finally get one, unfortunately mine is not even showerproof!Have i got a duff one or has anybody else had problems?

I found this too, today thought it was cold on my arms with the lightweight jacket on, rain pouring down. When it stopped, I took the jacket off to find I was soaked

Did you really expect anything else?? Wear your fleece under the shower coat to provide the minimum water resistance.

PS. Even the storm coat is useless, can keep out a light shower but any decent amount of rain will just soak through it

I have to take my own rain-coat if I want to keep dry. I put the hi-vis on over it so it looks like I'm wearing uniform, although my coat is much smarter than theirs. I think it cost next to nothing from ASDA (you didn't think I'd use my good coat, did you?). To be honest, I haven't seen my RM coat in a while. Put it on the fitting one day and predictably it had gone walkabout by the next morning. It's a battle for everything nowadays - if you want bags, find them yourselves. P739s? You don't need them, do you?

It's shower proof at best, they're smart jackets but they are never waterproof!

Should we even be out in torrential rain?, I personally don't think so but that's just me. All the mail and packets get sodden and ruined, shelter until it stops and anything missed deliver the following day.......simples!

I bought my own Dunlop light weight rain coat in blue at sports soccer world a coule of years back for the sum of £4.75 And from what iam hearing at work its better than the light weight rain coat so how cheap are they

I use a raincoat from camping shop. and it work fine. I just use them and put it in the bag when it is not wet. So it is easy to wear and not too much insulation. Big RM raincoat is too heavy to carry round and they are crap.

heard 2 people talking today in the office saying that due to H&S you are only ment to wear wet gear for 3hours max at a time. Is this true?

The instructions with the older coats says that they should only be worn for 1 hour Maximum!

If you have worn it in the rain and it kept you dry you must be unique !

You must have the "Test" version. Passed trials with flying colours, then RM went and bought the cheap crap , similar looking ones instead!
